Good morning ladies and gentlemen. In this occasion today I would like to discuss about the thing that is important for us especially for our generation's future. Well, it is about smoking.

Actually, some tribes in Indonesia smoked as the part of cultural tradition since a long time ago. Some of them smoked especially in the harvesting event. They usually used corn leaves replacing cigar. The name is "klobot" and it is enjoyed at certain moments and certain people. Kids and teens were usually prohibited to join smoking and the tradition is continued till now. But unfortunately, as we know, the new era of smoking started since tobacco has been the most profitable plant for our local farmers. The plantation of tobacco has been started from colonial age. The Netherland increased and spread the plantations of tobacco in order to sell it as the commodity. Then the new smoking era started too, accompanied the progress of tobacco plantation in Indonesia. Therefore, it seems so hard to stop smoking behavior in Indonesia because it has been planted as the unbeatable mindset in Indonesian people as a common thing to do.

Nowadays, we could see that there are so many people starting from kids till adult that are being smokers. They smoke for many different reasons. They commonly think that it is normal and allowed in society to smoke and the rest feel it is just because they are just being addicted so that they cannot easily stop smoking. Therefore, considering how danger it is we should eagerly and struggle to forbid smoking. The first thing we should remember coming from health sides. Smoking causes the lung cancer and others disease. We could see some horrible pictures of smoking effects printed on the cover of cigar package recently. The effect is so bad for our health and also our environment.

Then, smoking is a wasting because we do not get any advantage than contemporer relax feeling which comes from the nicotine contained in the cigar. It is just same as we burn our money and then got nothing. It is not only unhealthy but also waste our money.

At the last, smoking also changes a good kid into thief or maybe do bullying in order to get money for buying cigar. The most unbelievable thing is smoking sometimes leads people into drugs especially for those who just in unstable condition like teenagers. At the first time, they maybe just try cigar but maybe one time later they will curiously try what drugs are. It is very dangerous for us.

Finally, we should stop it and be a good role model for younger person. The action can be started of giving them a knowledge and real example of how danger it is because it has started from behaviour that is continued to a culture .
