Commemoration of Heroes Day, The citizens of Jakarta hold Betawi Culture

JAKARTA – Today, 10 November, to commemorate the heroes Day (hari pahlawan), the Young Front Kalideres held Betawi culture events in the yard of the District Office Kalideres, West Jakarta, Sunday (11/09/2014).

Chairman of the Young Front Kalideres, Senjaya Norman said Betawi culture events also aim to preserve the diversity of art and culture of the archipelago.

"This event aims to explore the potential of youth as well as providing a positive effect in the region to preserve the culture," said Norman, Sunday (11/09/2014).

Therefore, he hoped that the people of Jakarta also help preserve Betawi culture from extinction.

In the same place, Ahmad Ruslan, Member of the City Council (DPR) stressed the importance of maintaining and preserving the art and culture of Betawi. "We will also seek to accommodate studios Betawi in Jakarta," he said.
